Tour Location

On the way from Tbilisi to Kazbegi, you’ll pass the Zhinvali Dam, Ananuri Castle, Aragvi river, Gudauri ski resorts, friendship monument, and The Gergeti Trinity Church in Kazbegi.
  • The Zhinvali Dam is a hydroelectric dam on the Aragvi River in the Caucasus Mountains in ZhinvaliGeorgia.
  • Ananuri is a castle complex on the Aragvi River in Georgia, about 45 miles (72 kilometers) from Tbilisi. The river is 112 kilometers (70 mi) long, and its basin covers an area of 2,740 square kilometers (1,060 sq mi). The ground strata are mostly sandstoneslate, and limestone.
  • Gudauri is a ski resort located on the south-facing plateau of The Greater Caucasus Mountain Range in Georgia. The Gudauri Ski resort is situated in the Stepantsminda District, along the Georgian Military Highway near the Jvari Pass, at an elevation of 2,200 meters (7,200 ft.) above sea level with a skiable area enjoying maximum exposure to the sun. Gudauri lies 120 km (75 mi) to the north of the capital Tbilisi and two hours drive from Tbilisi. The resort offers high-quality skiing opportunities.
  • The Russia–Georgia Friendship Monument was built in 1983. It is located on the Georgian Military Highway between the ski resort town of Gudauri and the Jvari pass. Inside the monument is a large tile mural that spans the whole circumference of the structure and depicts scenes of Georgian and Russian history.
  • The Gergeti Trinity Church was built in the 14th century by an unknown architect. The iconic view of the church and Mount Kazbek is one of the best examples of the harmonic combination of architecture and the landscape, so typical for the architecture of Georgia Tour.
